At TMC, our outreach efforts at Serangoon North Ave 1 have been ongoing for many years, with programs at Contact123/Youth Ave. There were also TMC member-led initiatives to engage with residents, particularly when the Active Aging Centre (CareElderly@Golden Ginger) was established over 11 years ago.
With prayer and God’s guidance, Share & Bless was birthed on January 26, 2024 with the combined efforts of the Mandarin Ministry and Outreach & Social Concerns (OSC)!
Discussions with CareElderly@GoldenGinger management quickly concluded that we helm a slot in their monthly programme on a cognitive activity in social care. We launched Rummikub sessions led by Glowing Years Ministry (GYM), on March 13, 2024. We invite you to join us on every 1st Monday of the month to guide the elderly in playing Rummikub and foster fellowship with them. The number of seats (4, 8, 12, 16, 20 or 24) for each session that CareElderly@Golden Ginger opens to its members to register depends on the number of volunteers for each session.
Discussions are also in progress to extend this cognitive activity at another location for ease of accessibility to the elderly living in the vicinity. When this concludes a separate movement will be set up.
